The Ivey House as we know it today was founded in the 1980’s. The inn is open year round and offers 18 spacious, comfortable rooms surround by our beautifully landscaped, screened-in courtyard. The goal is meet our guests’ needs for lodging, guided eco-tours and boat rentals. The front desk area has a gift shop with a nice collection of books on the area and the history of the Everglades.
Everglades Kayak Adventures, located at the Ivey House offers amazing daily eco-paddling trips that explore unique areas of the subtropical Everglades habitat. Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime journey as you safely glide through magical mangrove tunnels or cypress ponds flush with exotic wildlife like American alligators, osprey, and other uncommon birds.
Every guided tour is led by one of our trained naturalists who’ll share favorite hidden places along with secrets and facts about the mysterious Everglades. Each guided adventure spans a 3 or 4-hour period and includes your canoe or kayak, personal flotation device, brief paddling orientation, transportation from the Ivey House to launch point, approximately 2 to 3 hours of paddle time, a snack, water, and return transportation.
If you’re longing to paddle the Everglades habitats but do not own your own boat, Everglades Adventures, is your home for canoe and kayak rentals in Everglades City. Rentals are available from November through April.
